The utility cadastre is a special technical record in which data on all underground and above-ground utility installations are collected, stored, updated and shared. This record serves for spatial planning, construction and safe management of infrastructure. This includes: water supply and sewage networks, electricity and telecommunications lines, hot water, steam, gas, oil and drainage networks. The drainage network is a system of channels, pipes and structures that serve to drain excess water from the ground or from the surface of the terrain. The drainage network enables controlled drainage of groundwater and surface waters, in order to prevent water retention, flooding, erosion and damage to land, roads or buildings. KJKP "Water Supply and Sewerage" Sarajevo manages the drainage network in urban areas (along roads, settlements, public areas) in the Sarajevo Canton, and has a modern GIS database that is available within the company via a web portal, which enables efficient management in real time. The cadastre of utility devices in the Sarajevo Canton, including its establishment, maintenance, processing of studies and publication of data, is managed by the Sarajevo Canton Construction Institute. Since 2021, the Sarajevo Canton Informatics and Statistics Institute has enabled online access to databases, information and public services through the Sarajevo Canton Digital Platform, thus improving the work of administrative bodies and public enterprises. As the backbone of digital transformation, it connects and analyzes data in real time and develops modern e-government.
