digital terrain model (DTM) is a way of representing the terrain surface in digital form. Aerial laser scanning (LiDAR technology) is the most efficient method for collecting data and creating DTM. As part of the project "Development of flood hazard and risk maps" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the planned activities was the creation of DTM based on LiDAR imaging of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The territory of riverbeds in Bosnia and Herzegovina (area 3288 km2) was surveyed, and an orthophoto and digital terrain model were created. The imaging density was from 4 to 20 points per square meter, while the absolute height accuracy of DTM is 10 cm.

Data quality and standards conformance

As part of the project "Development of Flood Hazard and Risk Map" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, LiDAR surveying of the riverbed belt, with a total area of 3288 km2, was carried out. The area was surveyed from October to December 2018. The collected LiDAR data was used to create a high-precision digital terrain model, which was used for the further course of the project and the creation of the Flood Hazard and Risk Map. Point density: from 4 to 20 points per 1 m2 Resolution: 10 cm DMT grid: 1x1 m Absolute height accuracy: 10 cm All LiDAR data are classified and available in appropriate formats.
