protected area is a clearly defined geographical area, recognized and intended to achieve long-term conservation of nature, multi-beneficial functions of nature, and cultural values, and which is managed by legal and other effective mechanisms. The spatial database contains data on protected areas in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the protection categories according to the Law on Nature Protection: strict nature reserve, wilderness area, national park, nature park, monument of nature and natural features, habitat/species management area, protected landscapes, regional park, protected areas with sustainable use of natural resources.
