The utility cadastre is a special technical record in which data on all underground and above-ground utility installations are collected, stored, updated and shared. This record serves for spatial planning, construction and secure management of infrastructure. This includes: water supply and sewage networks, electricity and telecommunications lines, hot water, steam, gas, oil and drainage networks. A hot water network is a system of pipes and supporting facilities that serves to transport thermal energy from heat sources, e.g. heating plants, thermal power plants or boiler rooms to end consumers, i.e. buildings, industrial facilities, etc. The utility cadastre in the Sarajevo Canton, including its establishment, maintenance, processing of studies and issuance of data, is managed by the Sarajevo Canton Construction Institute. KJKP "Toplane" doo Sarajevo has a modern GIS database on the hot water network, available within the company via a web portal, which enables efficient management in real time. Since 2021, the Sarajevo Canton Institute of Informatics and Statistics has provided online access to databases, information and public services through the Sarajevo Canton Digital Platform, thereby improving the work of administrative bodies and public enterprises. As the backbone of digital transformation, it connects and analyzes data in real time and develops modern e-government.
