JP Ceste Federacije BiH doo Sarajevo is responsible for the main road infrastructure in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the length of categorized main roads is 2,468.373 km, of which 2,403.998 km are sections in the same direction and 64.375 km are sections in the opposite direction. Main roads are public roads that connect the entire or a larger part of the territory of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation and integrate it into the European road network, and form an interdependent traffic network. From a technical and operational point of view, a standard main road is a two-lane road with a maximum designed speed of 80 km/h, a width of one traffic lane of 3.25 to 3.75 m and a shoulder width of 0.50 to 1.00 m.
