Section for the protection of cultural, historical and natural heritage for the "Alipašina-Koševo" Regulatory Plan
Bosnia and Herzegovina (bih)

The Department of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage Protection deals with the research and analysis of all factors of cultural material and intangible, as well as natural heritage. All forms of heritage, with their intertwined and mutual relationship, have influenced the creation of identity with all its multidimensional manifestations, abstract and material. Based on spatial identity, the process of recording (inventory) and valorization of various aspects of heritage enables the definition of protection measures, or rather the regime of preventive heritage protection, which plays a key role in preserving identity through spatial and urban planning, or urban and architectural design. Based on the historiographic methodology based on research, critical analysis of literature and available sources, and field research, the historical and developmental space was processed through key determinants that significantly determined, influenced the processes of forming, building and shaping the identity of the city within the given framework of the Koševo - Alipašina Street Regulatory Plan. The result of the research is an analysis, a synthesis that ultimately aimed to recognize the identity of the subject area, its “contribution” to the overall history of the city, and the valorization of the space as a whole, but also its individual heritage aspects. Special focus was also given to memorial culture. The area of the Regulatory Plan "Koševo - Alipašina" is located in the very center of the city, bordered by parts of long streets (Alipašina, Koševo, Maršala Tita) developed on older roads that led to, were routes used to enter and exit the city. In addition to parts of the aforementioned streets, the area includes the streets of Hasana Kikića, Jezero, Danijela Ozmo, Kemal‐begova, and part of Sutjeska. Part of the area is the area of Mali Park and the smaller Dubrovačka street. The objectives of this Study are to determine the current state in terms of the scope, type, quality and degree of preservation of cultural, historical and natural heritage, determine the spatial and environmental characteristics of physical structures, valorize all aspects of heritage and define protection measures for all aspects of heritage.
