The "Air Quality of the Sarajevo Canton" database includes spatial and attribute data on sources of pollutant emissions, concentrations of PM10, SO₂ and NO₂, and models of pollution dispersion in the atmosphere. It is an integral part of the air quality protection information system of the Sarajevo Canton, developed within the Digital Platform of the Sarajevo Canton. Data are collected, processed and visualized with the aim of monitoring the state of the environment, identifying dominant sources of pollution and supporting the adoption of measures to improve air quality. The emissions register includes natural sources (e.g. biological processes, forest fires) and emissions of anthropogenic origin that occur in: Energy facilities (thermal power plants, heating plants, boiler rooms), Industrial plants (technological processes), Residential sector (heating, cooking, hot water preparation) and Transport (emissions from vehicles). The database enables spatial analysis of pollutant concentrations, simulation of dispersion in urban and rural areas, and connection with other spatial layers within the Digital Platform and WebCity GIS application. Data access is enabled through standardized web services (OGC WMS and OGC WFS), with access restrictions defined by internal rules. This database represents a key tool for institutions dealing with environmental protection, spatial planning, academia, the public, public health and crisis management, and contributes to the development of modern e-government and transparency of public administration work.
