The Urban Plan of the City of Sarajevo is adopted for the urban area, and the boundaries of the areas for which it is prepared are defined by the Spatial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton. The Urban Plan elaborates in more detail the determinations from the Spatial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton, and in particular: the basic organization of space, the use and purpose of land with a proposal for the dynamics of their arrangement (borders of construction, agricultural and forest land), the purpose of land for housing, work, recreation, sports, tourism and special purposes, traffic zones, water, energy and utility infrastructure, economic zones, social infrastructure, etc.
