Metadata Details: Amendment to the land use value study for the Sarajevo Canton area

The study of the land use value of the Sarajevo Canton is an improvement and acquisition of newer and better quality data, which was achieved primarily by working on a larger scale (urban areas done on a scale of 1:5,000) and using digital orthophoto images, all with the aim of better planning the use of space in the Sarajevo Canton. The use of orthophoto images has enabled a better insight into the changes that have occurred in space, as well as a more precise differentiation of land areas (agricultural, forest and built-up land). Another advantage is a more detailed and clearer presentation of individual categories of land use, because it is possible to draw clearer boundaries and include some areas that were not visible in previous studies of this type. This primarily refers to the previous problem of representing areas by percentage of individual categories of land use, which were completely eliminated during this study, so that each area is now represented by its own unique category. The study of the land use value of the Sarajevo Canton contains a textual and graphical part processed in analog and digital form. The analysis and data were created within the GIS system. The Study identifies the soil quality categories from the best to the worst (I-VIII). It also provides a description of each category at the level of municipalities and cantons as a whole, as well as by production capacity zones.
