BASIC INFORMATION

Core identification information for the metadata record
Spatial reference system
Bosnia and Herzegovina (bih)

The spatial reference system of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a geocentric terrestrial reference system which, by definition of the coordinate origin, orientation of the coordinate axes, scale, length unit and time evolution, coincides with the International Terrestrial Reference System - ITRS for the epoch 1989.0 - ITRS 89 and is called the European Terrestrial Reference System - ETRS 89, implemented by the European Terrestrial Reference Frame - ETRF 89. The spatial reference frame consists of: 1) Zero-order reference frame, 2) 1st-order reference frame, 3) 2nd-order reference frame and 4) 3rd-order reference frame.

QUALITY AND CONFORMANCE

Data quality and standards conformance

The establishment of the spatial reference frame is carried out in accordance with the project documentation prepared by a legal entity registered for performing professional geodetic work in the field of basic geodetic works, approved by the Federal Government, and measurements are performed using instruments and methods used in satellite geodesy. The zero-order reference frame of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of: 1) The network of permanent GNSS stations "FBIHPOS" and 2) Existing triangulation points included in the GPS campaign in "EUREF 98". The first-order reference frame of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of all points of the triangulation network at which measurements were made and coordinates determined in the ETRS89 system during the GNSS campaign "BIHREF2000". The second-order reference frame is created by densifying the reference frames of higher orders, and consists of: 1) Points of the spatial reference frame stabilized in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at an average distance of 10-15 km and 2) All fundamental benchmarks of the second and third high-accuracy leveling suitable for GNSS measurements. The third-order reference frame is created by densifying the higher-order reference frames, and consists of: 1) City GNSS networks, 2) GNSS networks created during the survey of the Federation of BiH, and 3) All high-accuracy third leveling benchmarks on which direct measurement with GNSS devices is possible. Data is available for the territory of the Federation of BiH in the specified formats, in accordance with applicable regulations and terms of use.
