The digital terrain model shows the terrain with all its relief characteristics in a three-dimensional perspective, for the purpose of producing isometric and hypsometric terrain analysis, and calibration (orthorectification) of satellite images so that they can be fully used for spatial planning. The digital terrain model (DTM) of the wider area of the Sarajevo Canton (4,266 km2) with a resolution of 5 meters is one of the subprojects for the purpose of producing the Spatial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton. The data source is vectorized contour lines and elevations from geodetic plans at scales of 1:1000, 1:2500 and 1:5000. The digital terrain model was created with the aim of enabling efficiency and accuracy in the production of spatial, urban and implementation plans, better quality spatial management, faster and more efficient acquisition of construction documentation, and prevention of illegal construction.
