Statistics of structural business research represent a general framework for data collection of all active market units operating in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research produces basic variables and indicators on the structure, competitiveness and characteristics of the work of business entities and their business results, at different levels of grouping, by activity. The research is conducted using a combined method, using full coverage for business entities with 20 or more employees, while administrative and other available data are used for business entities with less than 20 employees. The content of structural business statistics (SBS) is in accordance with the applicable EU standards in this field of statistics. The data collected by research on structural business statistics are used to analyze the structure of business entities by activity (production value, added value, employment, etc.) and analysis of factors used in the production process (number of employees, employees' resources, etc.). Also, structural business statistics data are used to calculate weights for short-term statistics. The research results, in accordance with European recommendations, are presented according to the main activity, which implies that, if a business entity performs several activities, the entire result is attributed to its main activity. The data source for structural business statistics is the Annual Report on Structural Business Statistics for Enterprises.
