The 1:500 scale plates were created using the tachymetric method by the former Geology-Geodesy enterprise. The main task of this enterprise was to create maps and plans for the territories where cities and large engineering works were located, at a scale of 1:500 and 1:1000. The works carried out were based on the state geodetic system built by the enterprise's own specialists. This enterprise was subordinate to the Ministry of Construction and supported it in the engineering works of large construction works. Tachymetric surveying was a method that was applied for the creation of large-scale maps until 1993. This is a fast polar method, in which the classic topographic instruments THEO020, THEO030, etc. were used in the field. Tachymetric surveying was the most up-to-date method, which was used for all large-scale map surveys, which we are dealing with. Based on the data recorded in the tachymetric booklet, the tachymetric plan was drawn in the office with simple “polar transport” instruments. The production of these maps dates from 1957 to 1993, where the last updates were made only for specific nomenclatures and were marked in red as you can see on the maps that this metadata describes. Large-scale topographic maps and plans do not have a defined accuracy of their creation. However, taking into account the tachymetric survey used in the drawing, as mentioned in the treated part of the methodology, then the accuracy is calculated based on the map scale (0.2mm X scale). The very large scale of the maps and their purpose of use makes them have a rich content of topographic elements. The 1:500 scale maps found in the archive of the former NGjGj were topographic maps with diverse information on objects and heights. Tablets produced by the former Geology-Surveying company. Tacheometric surveying was used and they are of scale 1:500. These published tablets are respectively for the cities of Tirana, Durrës, Kavajë, Rrogozinë, Shijak, Krujë, Vorë, Shkodër, Lezhë, Laç, Ballsh, Fier, Lushnje, Patos, Roskovec, Vlorë.
