The 2023 Satellite Orthophoto covers an area of approximately 28,748 km². It was obtained through the “Satellite Service” project funded by the Albanian Government and aims to monitor the Albanian territory with advanced technology. ASIG produced the 2023 Satellite Orthophoto based on the Council of Ministers' Decision No. 863, dated 27.12.2022 “On some additions and amendments” to the Council of Ministers' Decision No. 147, dated 20.2.2013, On the Approval of the Regulation “On the Organization and Functioning of the State Authority for Geospatial Information”.
The 2023 Satellite Orthophoto covers the territory of the Republic of Albania from satellite images collected during the period January 29, 2023 to December 31, 2023. ASIG created the 2023 Satellite Orthophoto from mosaicking orthorectified satellite images with a resolution of 70 cm/pixel based on the footprint layer of satellite images.
