Data collected in the field in the process of drafting planning documents in forestry into the alphanumeric database Osnova and connected to the geodatabase of JP "Vojvodinašume", National Parks and part of the forests of the owners who manage them through the forest management bases.
The valid classification of forest fire risk, described by Vasić, M. in 1992, is used. As a basis for determining the degree of threat to forests from fire, this methodology takes into account only one criterion - the type of vegetation.
Degrees of threat according to Vasić:
I - Stands and cultures of black and white pine and larch
II - Stands and cultures of spruce, Douglas fir and other conifers
III - Mixed stands of coniferous and deciduous trees
IV - Hornbeam and oak stands
V - Stands of beech and other deciduous trees
VI - Bushes and thickets
To obtain data on vegetation types, the data from the database on stand units were grouped, in order to get a general representation of forest vegetation types, in such a way that a larger number of stand units based on the main type of trees was grouped into a smaller number of vegetation types.
