Metadata Details: Surface water quality monitoring (Serbian water quality index (SWQI))

The Serbian water quality index (SWQI) includes 9 physico-chemical and 1 microbiological parameter of surface water quality (river and reservoir), which are aggregated into one composite indicator with a numerical value from 0 to 100, depending on the water quality. Sampling on rivers is on average once a month and on reservoirs once to three times a year.
It is determined:
1. average value, maximum value and minimum value of the index for the period 2000-2021. year.
2. average index value for 2021
3. index trend for the period 2012-2021. year
The index was determined on rivers and reservoirs where sampling was carried out for at least one year in the period 2000-2021. year.
The trend was determined in the locations where in the period 2012-2021. years was regular sampling.

Water sampling, sample analysis and publication of the results were done by the Accredited Laboratory of the Environmental Protection Agency.
