QUALITY AND CONFORMANCE

Data quality and standards conformance

The Institute for Cultural Development Research, as a reference institution for research and documentation, has a tradition of developing databases in accordance with available technologies.
More than 30 years ago, the Atlas of Culture of Serbia project Visual Encyclopedia of Culture was launched at the Institute.
At the beginning of the new millennium, technology opens the possibility of a new approach to the old problem, and the project Geocultural Map of Serbia - an electronic database of cultural institutions is established. The development of the system is enabled by the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and long-term cooperation with cultural institutions.
The name of the new system is e-Culture. The system has changed several times in terms of technology and content in accordance with the results of research, user needs and technological capabilities. During 2013, the e-Culture database was migrated to Microsoft SQL Server 2012, enabling online updating of data by system participants, cross-referencing data and reports.
The directory of cultural institutions on the territory of the Republic of Serbia is available online.
