Topographic map at a scale of 1 : 250 000 is a digital topographic map based on the cartographic database scale 1 : 250 000, which represents a set of geospatial positioned entities modeled by natural and man-made objects on the Earth's surface, that satisfy the conditions for display in the scale of 1 : 250 000.Topographic map at a scale of 1 : 250 000 consists of 14 sheets. The dimension of one sheet is 150 km along the horizontal axis and 100 km along the vertical axis.
For the Topographic map 1:250 000 the primary method of collecting topographic objects is the digitization of digital orthophotos and topographic maps in the scale of 1: 200 000, while the methods for supplementing the content are collection from existing data sources and other subsystems of geographic-cartographic information system (GIKS).The register of spatial units was used as a source for the borders of administrative units on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.ERM (EuroRegionalMap) database data is used as a source for borders between neighboring countries.Data from the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia and the Provincial Institute for Nature Protection were used as a source for the boundaries of protected areas.The state border register was used as a source for border markers (three borders).The Decree on the categorization of state roads ("Official Gazette", no. 105/2013, 119/2013 and 93/2015) was used as a source for state road markings.The Decree on the Categorization of Railways ("Official Gazette", No. 115/13) was used as a source for state railway.The register of geographical names was used as a source for all geographical names.Other available sources were also used.
