BASIC INFORMATION

Core identification information for the metadata record
Digital orthophoto
Serbia (srb)

Digital orthophoto (DOF) is a georeferenced digital image of a part of the earth's surface of certain dimensions that has the characteristics of orthogonal projection, obtained by orthorectification of digital aerial photogrammetric images, digital satellite images or images obtained by other remote sensing methods.
Digital orthophoto is a digital topographic basemap that has all the information registered on the image since it was made (far more information compared to classic topographic plans or maps) but also all the measurement properties of topographic plans and maps of the appropriate level of detail.
Digital orthophoto based on aerial photogrammetric and satellite imaging data for the territory of the Republic of Serbia was produced in resolutions of 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 0.5 m, 1.5 m and 2.5 m.
The issuance of orthophotos is regulated Law on Republic Administrative Taxes which regulates the amount of the fee for services provided by the Republic Geodetic Authority.

QUALITY AND CONFORMANCE

Data quality and standards conformance

The technology of making orthophoto mosaics, i.e. digital orthophotos, is one of the most economical and efficient ways to obtain up-to-date topographic bases. Digital orthophoto is a product of surveying by the method of remote detection, which provides fast and mass collection of geospatial data and gives an overview of the topography of the recorded area. Selecting the appropriate pixel size in the field ensures the level of detail and accuracy required for specific purposes.
The Republic Geodetic Authority has data from a digital orthophoto obtained from aerial photogrammetric surveying from the epochs 2007-2010 and 2011-2013. Aerial photogrammetric recording 2007-2010. It was realized with surface sensors Vexcel UCX and UCXp, within the CARDS program of the European Union. Realization of aerial photogrammetric recording 2011-2013. It was performed with surface sensors Vexcel UCX and UCXp and line sensor Leica ADS80 within the Project of establishing the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure and the Centre for Remote Sensing of the Republic of Serbia - IGIS Project.
Using satellite images of different resolutions and epochs, orthomosaics were made for the territory of the Republic of Serbia:
• Resolutions 2.5 m for the territory of RS (2005-2007, archive);
• Resolutions 2.5 m for the territory of RS (2010/2011);
• Resolutions 0.5 m for the territory of AP Kosovo and Metohija (2010/2011);
• Resolutions 1.5 m for the territory of RS (2014/2015);
• Resolutions 0.3 m for 6 city areas (Beograd, Novi Sad, Nis, Kraljevo, Subotica i Kragujevac) of RS (2015/2016);
• Resolutions 0.4 m for the territory of RS (2015/2016);
• Resolutions 0.15 m for 4 city areas (Beograd, Novi Sad, Nis i Kragujevac) of RS (2020/2021);
• Resolutions 0.3 m for the territory of RS (2020/2021).
The validity of the data set has been confirmed and is in accordance with the Rulebook on topographic survey and topographic and cartographic products.
